Melted Ice Cream

Inobuthi had travelled the land for a long time, on the slow afternoon his feet grew tired, with a change in the winds on the way, and by the time he got to a river it was about nine
o'clock in the evening and the moon was coming up out of a clear starry sky over
the opposite forest. But the air was deadly cold and the wind
was like a flat blade of ice on his cheeks.
He was tired, hungry and just wanted to rest, that when he saw something, someone strange.
"Excuse me," he said, "but is there any way you can help me
from here?" he said in his deep voice.
Really he wasn't expecting an answer, other creatures were scared of him. His long arms, bright toxin colors. They always run in fear. As Inobuthi was about to call out to it again the other creature cam closer. He could no make it out. It was a cat....no moth...? It had rounded wings detailed like a waffle cone, especially its horn. It was a waffle cone! It's dark grey mane with colorful specs in it like sprinkles. It's light grey body covered in strips and just for a second, Inobuthi thought "dinner". He shoock his head not meaning it. He didn't want to be how other saw him he was just so hungry.
Inobuthi looked up upset from the thought he just had and was met with golden eyes that seemed to sparkle even underneath the dark night.
"I see you, creature," it spoke in a soft almost whispered voice.
"Let me help you. If you follow me I'll keep you safe."
"Follow you? I don't even know what you are," he growled in a dark voice.
"I am a special creature exotic you can say, I am a Mothcat species. I care special abilities cause of my horn, but can only do so much."
"Mothcat you say? What should I call you?" Inobuthi spoke.
The creature giggled, "Call me Cream."
Inobuthi followed Cream, and began their walk.  He felt like they the had walked a
quarter-mile. He had never been to this side of the lands before he didn't
know anyone who lived there. But Cream had told him it was a splendid place to be. Cream smiled, turning to face Inobuthi, still flying backward.
She spoke in her soft voice,"I have never seen a creature like you before. You are unique"
Inobuthi coffed,"Me? Unique? How about you? I've never seen a creature like you before."
Saddness swarmed in her eyes and she looked down coming to a halt.
"I was seperated from me species. We usually stay in a group but.."
Inobuthi brought it's hand to the top of Creams head and patted it. He knew all to well. They came to a little clearing with a huge tree surrounded by flowers. The first branch reach up high but he could see what appeared to be little floating lights surrounding a nest like bed. But now, even in the darkness, he could see the wood was peeling. Cream flew up to he nest and shuffled around a bit bring back some round violet food. Inobuthi was worried at first, and Cream could see it.
"Do not worry my friend, I am not trying to trick you or harm you in anyway." She watched as he scoffed down the food leaving stains on his skin. Cream giggled.
"You can rest here with me, I will protect us." She said.
"HAHAHAHA! I do not need protection little one. Thank you."
With that Inobuthi curled up at the end of the tree and shut his eyes. Cream looked at him feeling bad she had a bed high up in the trees, yet him down in the dirt. She knew he could protect himself just be looking at him, still, she did not want to leave him. It had been a long time since she had met a new creature as friendly as him. Cream flew above toward him, resting on top of his head.
When morning had come Inobuthi was awakened by a softness. His eyes widen, then grew soft. The Mothcat had fallen asleep on top of him. Inobuthi climbed up trying to be as gentle as possible, still waking up Cream in the process. Inobuthi didn't always meet friendly creatures making him harden. Still, he had grown a soft spot for this creature. She flew down in front of him meeting his gazing smiling.
"Good morning friend!"
Friend? What an unusual statement. Yet he was happy. He brought his hand up to his head-scratching it, "So I was thinking, we are both separated from home and it gets lonely traveling alone...."
His face grew red, not comfortable with doing this. Cream giggled, "Let's travel together!"
Inobuthi eyes grew wide hearing the excitement in her voice, then he smiled.
"Yes let's travel together friend," he brought his hand up to her head again and patted.
Together they settled out to their new journey. Not knowing what will happen along their journies, but happy they finally found a friend along the way.
